How to replace old beliefs with new ones

We believe because → we have evidence that something is true.

Flat Earth is an exciting example to study. There are thousands of people who believe that the planet Earth is flat like a coin and they believe so because they see evidence to believe what they believe.

This is because a phenomenon called “Confirmation Bias” which Wikipedia says:

Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one’s prior beliefs or values. People tend to unconsciously select information that supports their views, but ignore non-supportive or contradicting information. People also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position.

That means our beliefs “construct our reality”. We do not see “how things are”, we see “what our belief show them to be”.

The earth is flat or not may do much to us but the same principles which make people conclude about earth also apply to our lives. Like them, we too are a product of our beliefs and we too see reality through the lens of our beliefs.
